I've been a stair and rail contractor for 36 years. I've had my own business for 28 years. I learned how to market my business out of necessity from the 2008 banking crisis. They bailed the banks out but they didn't bail me out. So I had to figure out how to make the phone start ringing again. I saw immediate and remarkable results, and I soon discovered I loved that part of my job more than the actual stair and rail work. And I've dabbled in starting my own digital marketing business but never really went for it 100%. I've helped a few friends and family, and have gotten paid for some of that, but it's time to make it a full time job. With the arrival of 3 grandkids who I love being around, I'm planning on shutting down the contracting business this year, so I can fully focus on the marketing business.
I'm largely self-taught, again out of necessity. So, I love business in general and marketing in particular. I enjoy reading, and have always read biographies of interesting business, historical, and political figures. And, I've always wanted to know how all these folks made their fortunes, and why they did what they did or are doing. I've been following all the gurus for decades.
Frank Kern, Russell Brunson, Dan Kennedy, GaryVaynerchuk, ok, I mean all of them. And they all preached content. So that's what I did, and am still doing. Then when the GBP showed up, I had to see how and why that worked, and I applied the same strategy. I've taken every course on every marketing topic and business idea that's ever been sold.
I've helped some people with their GBP and have seen some great results, and am looking forward to implementing many more of the core marketing strategies we all know and love for all the clients I'm about to start a business relationship with.
